The Perpetual Australian Share Fund is a diverse portfolio of high quality Australian shares, managed by one of Australia’s most experienced equity management teams. The Fund aims to provide investors with long-term capital growth and regular income.
At Perpetual, we seek quality companies with sound management, conservative debt levels, recurring earnings and a quality business. We assess the quality of a business by looking at a company’s products, positioning and brands; its sources of competitive advantage; the barriers to entry in its market and any issues that that may influence the company’s future performance.
We only invest in a company when we believe its share price is attractive relative to its return potential. Perpetual seeks to hold positions for the long term, provided that the quality of the business remains unchanged and the price remains attractive.
An investment approach that has stood the test of time
We seek to hold quality companies that are undervalued because of the potential for the share price to rise.
Consistent long-term performance
The Fund has generated above-market returns over the long-term. This reflects our focus on capturing sustainable, long-term investment returns. Perpetual has been managing Australian shares since 1966.
Depth of research
The team conducts more than 1,000 company meetings or calls per year. This is an important input to our research and assists in our deep understanding of a company.
