LOUISE SANDBERG, Perpetual's newly appointed head of research for Australian equities, explains in this new video podcast Perpetual's drive to strengthen its investment capability and how the team’s disciplined research process helps narrow the ASX universe to a focused set of investment opportunities.

Here's an excerpt from the interview:

"Perpetual has had a long history of a very structured approach to our investment universe," says Sandberg.

"We don't start by just saying what stocks across the ASX are cheap. We start by saying what companies are quality and we have a very strict measure of what is quality.

"Stocks have to earn their way into our quality universe by meeting four gating criteria."
