Giving Back

Giving back is core to the Perpetual spirit.

For over 125 years, Perpetual has helped individuals, families and companies contribute to the health and wellbeing of others through philanthropic endeavours. We are Australia’s largest manager of philanthropic funds, acting as trustee for over 450 charitable trusts. We manage over 990 charitable trusts and endowments worth $2.2 billion (as at 31 December 2014).

We are a leader in improving the quality of philanthropy in Australia through our breadth of services, as well as through commissioning research and conducting discussion forums on key issues.

Sustainable giving and funding

We are committed to helping develop more sustainable giving, investing and funding programs. This includes helping individuals, families and organisations structure programs to maximise their involvement and impact in making a positive contribution to the community.

Staff giving program

We want you to make a positive impact in the community. As Australia's largest philanthropic business, contributing to the community is part of who we are.

We encourage our people to raise funds for charities they are passionate about while supporting their personal endeavours and passions through our Perpetual Giving program.

The Perpetual Foundation

In 1998, we established the Perpetual Foundation, to provide a way for our business, staff and clients to contribute to improving the lives of others. The Foundation supports a range of charities and causes.

A principal objective of the Foundation is to direct funds towards charitable projects that focus on preventative measures and education, and projects that address the root cause of problems. Ultimately, the Foundation aims to increase the capacity of communities and individuals to strengthen themselves and become more self-reliant.

How we work

At Perpetual, our expectation of our people is that everyone is a leader. We empower our people to act like business owners and deliver results.

We have built trusted relationships with our clients because of the sustainable value we created for them for more than 125 years.

Clarity on our people, client and business leadership expectations means that our people always know what is expected from them and helps us define what high performance looks like. We believe in the importance of:

  • being clear on what we are trying to achieve, as individuals and as an organisation
  • providing challenging professional development opportunities
  • receiving regular feedback and coaching on our progress
  • rewarding and recognising high performance
