Investment Objective

The Fund aims to: - provide investors with income and capital stability through investment in a diversified portfolio of fixed income and diversified credit investments - outperform the stated benchamrk (before fees and taxes) over rolling three-year periods.

Investment Approach

Perpetual aims to achieve the above objectives by:

- managing the portfolio actively with respect to interest rates, swap and credit margins and managing the portfolio's sensitivity in these
- diversifying the Fund amongst different securities issued by various borrowers
- actively managing changes in market wide and security specific credit margins
- identifying and investing in relative value within the universe of credit securities
- utilising derivatives in conjunction with authorised investments for hedging, arbitrage, as a replacement for trading a physical security and for managing portfolio risks and exposures

The Fund does not directly gear for investment purposes. However, the Fund may borrow up to 10% to meet investor withdrawal requirements and the Fund may invests into the Perpetual Diversified Income Fund, which can gear up to 25% when gearing provides value to investors.

Perpetual was appointed as Fund Manager effective 28 July 2014. The previous Fund Manager invested under a different investment strategy using a different investment approach. Therefore performance information before 28 July 2014 is not directly comparable.
