Helping Philanthropists

You want to make a difference to your community. To ensure your contribution has the most impact, you need to ask yourself a range of questions:

  • What causes, charities or projects matter to me?
  • Do I give now, through my estate – or both?
  • How much should I give?
  • What is the easiest, most efficient and tax-effective way to structure my giving?
  • What role do I want to play in my giving?
  • With so many good causes, how will I decide which organisations to support?

Give in a way that works for you

At Perpetual we work with you to find the best way for you to give - the approach that helps you make a bigger difference over a longer period.

With some careful planning you can give in a way that is tax-effective, provides the level of involvement you want and offers the satisfaction of knowing your gift will have the highest possible impact.

We can help you:
  • Structure your giving most effectively.
  • Set up and manage a charitable trust.
  • Ensure your trust gives in perpetuity by helping you grow the value of your donation.
  • Find causes, charities and projects that match your interests and passions.
  • Leave a legacy through your will.

Choosing the Best Structure for You

Private Ancillary Funds

A Private Ancillary Fund is your own charitable foundation. Your donation is invested and the income distributed to charities or causes of your choice.

Minimum initial donation: $500,000

  • You choose where the money goes and can be involved in the administration of the foundation (if you want to).
  • Your donations are generally tax-deductible.
  • You can give for generations – these trusts can exist in perpetuity.
  • You can involve your family or friends in how you give by having them join advisory committees.

Perpetual Foundation Endowments

Your donation creates an endowment within the Perpetual Foundation - a charitable trust which distributes its income to organisations you recommend.

Minimum initial donation: $20,000

  • Simple and effective – Perpetual manages all administration so you can concentrate on giving.
  • You can recommend organisations or seek suggestions from Perpetual as to whom to give to.
  • Your donations are generally tax-deductible.
  • You can give for generations – these endowments can exist in perpetuity.
  • You can name the endowment for your family, your business or to honour a loved one.
