Returns
Returns have been calculated using exit prices after taking into account all ongoing fees, and assuming reinvestment of distributions. No allowance has been made for entry fees, exit fees or where applicable taxation. Future returns may bear no relationship to the historical information displayed. The returns shown represent past returns only and are not indicative of future returns of a Fund. Returns on a Fund can be particularly volatile in the short term and in some periods may be negative.
Future Income Tax Benefits
Following a review of our unit pricing policies the treatment of Future Income Tax Benefits (FITBs) was changed for a more consistent approach to the calculation of unit prices in our superannuation funds. The change in policy was implemented on 24 June 2005. A portion of the Earnings for the 2004/05 financial year is directly attributable to the policy change affecting how FITBs are treated. Investors in the following portfolios will be affected:
- Perpetual WealthFocus Super Plan - Perpetual's International Share Option (1.40%)
- Perpetual WealthFocus Super Plan - Platinum International (0.03%)
- Perpetual WealthFocus Super Plan - Allianz Global Investors RCM Global Analysts' Choice (formerly known as Dresdner RCM International Equities) (0.38%)
- Perpetual's Pooled Superannuation Trust - International Share Investment Option (12.83%)
An FITB is an asset that reflects the potential future value of tax losses in a Fund. An FITB arises where a taxable entity, such as your Fund, has losses (for example from the sale of a share at a lower price than the purchase price) but has no gains against which the losses can be offset.
