The buy/sell spread is an estimation of the transaction costs that may be incurred by a fund as a result of investments into, and withdrawals out of, the fund by investors. The buy/sell spread is incorporated into the relevant fund’s entry/exit price and is retained by the fund to cover its transaction costs.
