The Perpetual Foundation

The Perpetual Foundation is a public charitable trust established in 1998.

It brings together the generosity of individuals and organisations with the expertise and resources of Perpetual, providing the community with valuable support.

Our key objective is to promote thought leadership and best practice in philanthropy.

A leader in philanthropy

Through the Perpetual Foundation we are able to offer opportunities for open discussion in the areas of philanthropy and the social economy by providing forums and commissioning research.

Philanthropists, non-profit organisations, industry bodies, government and business are encouraged to engage in our open discussions. We place a particular emphasis on improved leadership, management and governance of non-profit organisations and their capacity to achieve sustainability for the long term benefit of Australian society.

Confidence that gifts are directly benefiting society

The Perpetual Foundation also offers people an easy and effective way to give to the community.

With so many worthy causes, finding the right one to support is not always easy. That’s where the Perpetual Foundation can help. The Foundation has a research and advisory capability, ensuring that the money that people give is strategically invested and distributed to worthy and just causes and that it is used as intended.

While the Perpetual Foundation supports a range of charities and causes, a key objective is to direct funds towards charitable projects that focus on preventative measures and education, and projects that address the root cause of problems, rather than providing short term remedies.

Ultimately, the Foundation aims to increase the capacity of communities and individuals to strengthen themselves and become self-reliant.

Quick and easy way to create a lasting gift to the community

Through the Perpetual Foundation Gift Fund donors have an easy and efficient way to help the Australian community.

Perpetual Foundation Gift Fund allows donors to specify particular beneficiaries now and in the future, work with the Foundation to determine new beneficiaries, or leave these decisions to the Foundation’s trustee and charitable advisers.

Donors are able to name their fund or may elect to remain anonymous. Donations may be tax deductible and the fund invites donation from the public through fundraising activities.

There are no establishment costs for setting up a fund or donating gifts to the Foundation although there is an annual management fee.

Outstanding expertise in managing philanthropic trusts

Perpetual has been managing charitable money for over 120 years with more than 450 individual trusts with a total of $1.2 billion funds under management.

Private Client Advisers and the Philanthropic Services team provide integrated trust services including the establishment and ongoing management of Prescribed Private Funds.
