The Perpetual Foundation
In 1998, we established the Perpetual Foundation (the Foundation), to provide a way for our business, our staff and clients to contribute to improving the lives of others. The Foundation is structured in a way that enables specific endowments to be established in their own name. This includes our staff account, where all staff donations are matched by Perpetual.

With so many worthy causes, finding the right one to support is not always easy. That’s where the Foundation can help by offering people an easy and effective way to give. By establishing an endowment, you can be relieved of doing your own research and all the work involved in running your own charitable foundation.
The Foundation has a research and advisory capability, ensuring that the money that people give is strategically invested and distributed to worthy and just causes and that it is used as intended.
While the Foundation supports a range of charities and causes, a key objective is to direct funds towards charitable projects that focus on preventative measures and education. In addition, to projects that address the root cause of problems, rather than providing short-term remedies.
Ultimately, the Foundation aims to increase the capacity of communities and individuals to strengthen themselves and become self-reliant.
Promoting good leadership and governance in philanthropy
Through the Foundation, we offer opportunities for open discussion in the areas of philanthropy and the social economy by providing forums and commissioning research.
Philanthropists, non-profit organisations, industry bodies, government and business are encouraged to engage in our forums. We place a particular emphasis on improved leadership, management and governance of non-profit organisations and their capacity to achieve sustainability for the long-term benefit of Australian society.
