Announcement - Perpetual Investments adds strong credit capability to its team

30 Jul 2004

Perpetual Investments, the funds management arm of Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited, today announced that three credit specialists will be joining its asset management team.

The specialists are Michael Korber, Vivek Prabhu and Greg Stock. They collectively managed Macquarie Funds Management's credit-based investment portfolios and will join Perpetual in August. The addition of these credit specialists will enhance Perpetual's asset management capabilities and expand its product offering to investors.

Mr Emilio Gonzalez, Chief Investment Officer for Perpetual, said that the addition of a specialist credit capability will broaden Perpetual's asset management footprint.

"As mentioned at our half year results in February, broadening our asset management footprint is a strategic focus for the Perpetual group. The experience and expertise of these individuals will complement our existing asset management skill set and enable us to offer additional income products for our retail, masterfund and institutional clients.

"We are delighted to welcome these highly regarded individuals to Perpetual. We have demonstrated in the past that we are able to identify, attract and integrate new asset management capabilities to our team. Notably, our property securities and infrastructure businesses have developed into strong performers by taking this approach," Mr Gonzalez said.

Mr Korber said he and his colleagues were looking forward to joining the Perpetual team, which has a great reputation for being one of Australia's most highly regarded funds management companies.

"We are excited by the opportunity to be able to offer an extensive client base a strong credit capability and to further develop this capability with the support of an industry leader," Mr Korber said.
