Australian shares
Our experience shows that this approach has not only provided good returns over the long term – it has also reduced volatility and reduced the impact of extreme market shocks.
Our fundamental approach to share investing has never wavered since our Industrial Share Fund began in 1966.
We don’t just conduct detailed analysis of financial reports. We meet company management face to face, and talk to their customers, suppliers and competitors.
Quality and value
To even be considered for our funds, a company must firstly meet our strict quality criteria of having sound management, clear business model, strong balance sheet, conservative debt levels, and ability to deliver sustainable earnings over the business cycle.Only when a company passes our quality filters do we consider investing if we then believe it represents good value based on our detailed financial analysis.
While we aim to invest in companies we believe will perform over the medium to long term, we constantly monitor the market and our funds and make any required adjustments to ensure our selections continue to meet our funds’ objectives.
Our philosophy and process means we often tend to invest in stocks with low price-to-book values, low price-to-earnings ratios and high yields.
