Perpetual Private Clients Financial Planning Association of Australia

Our financial advisers help individuals and families who may have complex situations or require sophisticated strategies to manage their investments, tax and financial affairs. We are located in mainland capital cities.

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA)  is Australia’s professional body for financial advisers. Their website allows you to search for a financial adviser in your area and also provides information about the financial planning process and how it can help you.

How a financial adviser can help

If you don’t have the time, knowledge or resources to make an informed decision a financial adviser can be invaluable. It’s their job to stay abreast of investment markets and products, super and tax legislation and provide guidance based on your needs.

A financial adviser can:

  • help you identify your short, medium and long-term financial goals
  • help you decide whether an investment is suitable for your needs
  • recommend investment options and strategies in line with your financial goals and life stage
  • recommend appropriate structures to manage and protect your investments, eg trusts, DIY super funds
  • provide one-off advice or develop a comprehensive financial plan
  • provide ongoing reviews of your financial plan and investments, and recommend changes as your needs change
  • advise on personal insurance cover to protect your wealth
  • develop an estate plan.

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission also provides a practical guide to seeking financial advice and what to expect.
