We can assist with or take on executorial duties
Executorial Services
If you have been nominated as an executor, fulfilling the administrative tasks of an estate or Will can be complex and time-consuming. There are legal and disclosure obligations to the tax office, creditors and beneficiaries. In the event of disputes, an executor may be required to defend the Will in a full court trial.
Perpetual has long been a trusted provider of estate administration services, and can be appointed as executor should you wish to transfer these responsibilities. We offer three types of executorial service:
1. You can appoint us as future executor of your estate. You will find a description of our services under estate administration. The terms of your Will will govern Perpetual’s involvement.2. You can appoint us to assist you in administering someone’s estate. You can appoint Perpetual as your agent to help you fulfil your executorial duties. We can provide advice and guidance as needed and carry out many of the detailed tasks, such as preparation of accounts and lodgement of legal documents. Our fee scale is based on a percentage of the gross value of the estate and an hourly rate for additional services.
You can make an appointment here or speak to one of our advisers in your area by calling 1800 631 381 during business hours.
3. You can transfer your executorial responsibilities to us. Should you be unable to accept the obligations of nominated executor, you can ask Perpetual to take on the role of executor of the estate. We will keep you fully informed of the progress of the administration without you having to accept the personal obligations and liabilities as executor.
